The acrylic on canvas painting is titled The Ball of the Century and incorporates French sommeliers, a quintessential theme in Buffet's paintings. Rows of gold-gilded Belle Epoque revelers line panels in between rows of 100 sommeliers holding Perrier Jouet bottles. The painting was unveiled at the Kapalua Wine and Food Festival, in Kapalua, Hawaii, on July 7 and will tour the world during the Flower Bottle centennial, making appearances at both Le Bal de Fleur and the 100th anniversary celebration in Epernay, France. A limited edition lithograph will grace the walls of upscale restaurants and prints will be auctioned to benefit charitable causes.
